Nominate a Nurse of the Month

A save. A mentorship. A quiet decade of excellence. Tell us who deserves the spotlight.

How it works

Editors review every nomination. One nurse is featured each issue. Your name (if you give it) stays out of print unless you ask otherwise.

What we're looking for
  • A specific moment, save, or pattern — not a generic resume.
  • How they show up for coworkers, patients, or the union.
  • Mentorship, solidarity, safety, or steady excellence over time.
  • Plain language. A few sentences beats a paragraph of adjectives.
Please leave out
  • Patient names, room numbers, MRNs, or any PHI.
  • Manager-bashing or naming coworkers in a negative light.
  • Anything you wouldn't want printed on the unit bulletin board.
Use example:
Aim for 60–400 words. Specific moments beat adjectives.0 / 2000

The Shift Report · Rank-and-file nurse communication

It is not an official statement of CWA Local 1104, NYP, or hospital management unless specifically identified as such. Do not submit patient names, MRNs, room numbers, screenshots, dates of care, or patient-identifying details. For discipline, investigatory meetings, grievances, POA questions, or urgent workplace safety concerns, contact a union delegate directly.
